Cryptocurrency Investment Products See $47 Billion Inflows in 2025
Cryptocurrency investment products witnessed a significant influx of funds in 2025, with total inflows reaching approximately $47 billion. This figure is only slightly lower than the total inflows recorded in 2024, according to data from European crypto asset manager CoinShares. The launch of new crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the US contributed to this substantial investment.
Crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs) recorded $47.2 billion in inflows last year, which represents a 3% decline from the record $48.7 billion in 2024. Notably, Bitcoin (BTC) inflows experienced a sharp decline of 35% from $41.7 billion in 2024 to around $27 billion in 2025. In contrast, Ether (ETH), XRP (XRP), and Solana (SOL) ETPs saw considerable gains. The global crypto ETP assets under management (AUM) increased to around $180 billion at the end of 2025, up from $160 billion the previous year.
Ether, XRP, and Solana Lead the Way in 2025
According to James Butterfill, head of research at CoinShares, Ether ETPs saw the strongest gains in 2025, with inflows totaling $12.7 billion. This represents a 138% increase from $5.3 billion the previous year. Solana funds recorded the highest growth rate, increasing by 1,000% to $3.6 billion from $310 million in 2024. XRP investment products also experienced significant growth, increasing by 500% from $608 million to $3.6 billion.

Butterfill noted that the remaining altcoins saw a decline in sentiment, with a 30% drop in inflows year-over-year. This shift in investor interest highlights the evolving landscape of cryptocurrency investments.
USA Records Majority of Inflows at $47.2 Billion
The US attracted the majority of crypto fund inflows in 2025, totaling $47.2 billion. This represents a 12% decline from 2024. By the end of 2025, US crypto funds had AUM of $152.6 billion, representing 84% of all crypto assets managed by global crypto ETPs.

Germany saw the strongest growth, with inflows rising from just $43 million in 2024 to $2.5 billion last year. Canada also experienced a notable recovery, rising from $600 million in 2024 to $1.1 billion in 2025. This growth in international investment underscores the increasing global interest in cryptocurrency.
Crypto ETPs Start 2026 with Inflows
Butterfill noted that crypto ETPs started 2026 with $671 million in inflows, bringing total inflows for the week to $582 million. This followed two weeks of selling in late December that saw outflows of $446 million and $952 million, respectively. The improvement in liquidity and investor sentiment is a positive sign for the cryptocurrency market.
